MY FIRST 20K

WOW, I did my first 20K (12.1 miles) ever my longest distance yet, The Stratton Faxxon New Haven Road Race my official time was 2 hours and 39 minutes. I had a bit of a tough run considering what kind of week I had, but I did it. My 1/2 marathon will be very comfortable for me, hopefully I can improve on speed. I was a straggler may I say the least but I finished it. I just found out today that this race is the Official National Race for the 20K, which is so cool. I so glad I finished but I again, it was a tough run I walked alot and my heart rate was on the high side. I hope my training for the Half in October the ING DIRECT 1/2 MARATHON will be much better and I hope I'm feeling much better than today. I'll be a bit more comfortable with the 1/2 marathon now doing this race. Lets see how I feel tommorrow.

Great job on the race! It sounds like it was a confidence booster for sure!

BTW - You don't need a Nike+ for the Runner+ challenge - you can enter your runs manually. Check it out!

Congrats on your 20K!!

No doubt that confidence will carry over to your half marathon. And I'm sure you learned some things about yourself too. Great job!
